Woolworths The Fresh Food People

Robina Braves receives Fresh Food Kids Community Grant from Woolworths.

I am pleased to advise that Woolworths Limited through their "Fresh Food Kids Community Grant" have been generous enough to offer the Robina Braves Baseball Club a grant amount of $1000.00! The initiative by Woolworths is designed to get children active through sports and other worthwhile activities. As a sporting club, we very much appreciate the grant by Woolworths with funds to be used for the purchase of additional sports equipment to allow many kids the chance to be active and to play baseball. Thank you Woolworths for your generous offer. 

 

Safety notice

To all club members using the Robina Braves batting cage. It is mandatory that helmets be worn by anyone within the batting cage. This applies to the batter as well as others that may be feeding the ball in to the pitching machine or to those tossing the ball. The batting cage is a hazardous area and these safety instructions must be followed. 
 
For any players or coaches who are base coaching on first or third bases must be wearing a helmet to avoid possible head injury from any ball that is hit hard and fast down either foul line.

Spectators Code of Conduct as set by BQI and administered by Robina Baseball Club

 

·                          Remember that young people participate in sport for their enjoyment and benefit, not yours.

·                          Applaud good performance and efforts from all individuals and teams. Congratulate all participants on their performance regardless of the game's outcome.

·                          Respect the decisions of officials and teach young people to do the same.

·                          Never ridicule or scold a young player for making a mistake. Positive comments are motivational.

·                          Condemn the use of violence in any form, whether it is by spectators, coaches, officials or players.

·                          Show respect for your team's opponents. Without them there would be no game.

·                          Encourage players to follow the rules and the officials' decisions.

·                          Do not use foul language, sledge or harass players, coaches or officials.

·                          Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every young person regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion.

·                          No glass or alcohol can be brought onto club grounds.

·                          Any breaches of this code will be dealt with accordingly.

Coaches Code of Conduct as set by BQI and administered by Robina Baseball Club.

·                          It is the responsibility of all Coaches to be in control of their players at all times in order to prevent any unsportsmanlike acts towards opponents, officials or spectators.

·                          All Coaches are expected to comply wholeheartedly with the intent and spirit of the rules. The deliberate teaching of players to violate the rules is totally inappropriate.

·                          All Coaches will teach their players to respect the dignity of the game and the club they represent.

·                          All Coaches will confine their discussions with the umpire to interpretation of the rules only.

·                          Any negative verbal discussion directed towards umpires on judgment decisions i.e. Balls/strikes/outs/safes and fair/foul by players or coaches will result in an automatic ejection.

·                          Whereas friendly banter between players is not discouraged, insults, obscene language, malicious or personal remarks to opponents or spectators will not be tolerated at any time. Rather the players should direct their time and energies towards encouraging teammates to better efforts.

·                          Managers will emphasis the fact that their assistants must confine their remarks to their team only.

·                          All Coaches will refrain from any personal action that might arouse players or spectators to unsportsmanlike behavior.

·                          All Coaches will expect from the umpires a courteous and dignified attitude toward their players.

·                          All Coaches must never allow their team to demoralize the opposition with overly aggressive play when in position of extreme superiority. (e.g. No bunting when 10 runs in front)

·                          All Coaches will be properly and appropriately attired as designated by the rules of baseball.

·                          All Coaches have a responsibility to all players to be organized for both training and games.

·                          All Coaches have a responsibility to all players to make sure the teams equipment is of a quality nature and safe of use.

·                          All Coaches have a responsibility to all players to teach them to respect the field they play on and to leave it after they finish, in the proper condition.

·                          All Coaches have a responsibility to all players to ensure that they know and understand the rules of their particular level of play.

·                          All Coaches must have a Baseball coaching accreditation.

·                          All Coaches have a responsibility to all players to enhance their own personal knowledge by attending accreditation updates, seminars and all other club, region, state and national clinics whenever possible.

·                          All senior level Coaches have the responsibility to assist the less experienced junior coaches whenever possible and to encourage their players to do the same.

·                          All Coaches have the responsibility of realising their status as PERCEIVED by their players and must be overly positive at all times in regards to playing, watching and learning Baseball.

Baseball Queensland Inc. Players Codes of Conduct as set by BQI and administered by Robina Baseball Club.

 

·                           Play by the rules of the game at all times

·                           Respect the Umpires. If you disagree with a non-judgment call, have your Coach or manager approach the Umpire(s) during a break or after the game has finished.

·                           Control your temper. Verbal abuse of Umpires and sledging other players, deliberately distracting or provoking an opponent are not acceptable or permitted behaviors in any sport, especially baseball.

·                           Work equally hard for yourself and/or team. Your teams’ performance will benefit and so will yours.

·                           Be a good sport. Appreciate all good plays whether your own team or the opposition makes them.

·                           Cooperate with your Coach, teammates and opponents. Without them there would be no Baseball competition.

·                           Participate for your own enjoyment and benefit, not just to please parents and coaches.

·                           Respect the rights, dignity and worth of all players regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion.

·                           Remember where you started…Give something back to the juniors below.

·                           You are solely responsible and accountable for your actions.

·                           All players are capable of doing one perfect thing on field at all times-Hustling.

·                           Punctuality to training and games is a sign of dedication and personal accountability.

·                           Although Baseball is important to you, family and education are your main priorities.

·                           Profanity at any level at any time is unacceptable.

·                           Respect the facility you train and play on at all times.

·                           If you have a problem with a decision of your Coach, speak to him/her about it privately and forget all behind the back comments.

·                           Respect the uniform you wear…by wearing it properly.

·                           Seniors, remember the little eyes (juniors) are on you…It is a compliment but also a big responsibility.

·                           Your on field actions speak louder than words…Lead by example.

·                           Treat all spectators, volunteer workers and scorers with the respect they deserve…A huge amount!

·                           Keep your physical condition to a high level…to play good you must look and feel good. Remember also, the players are the most important advertisements ANY sport has.

Parents Code of Conduct as set by BQI and administered by Robina Baseball Club.

 

·                           Remember that children participate in sport for their enjoyment, not yours.

·                           Encourage children to participate, do not force them.

·                           Focus on the child’s efforts and performance rather than winning or losing.

·                           Encourage children always to play according to the rules and to settle disagreements without resorting to hostility or violence.

·                           Never ridicule or yell at a child for making a mistake or losing a competition.

·                           Remember that children learn best by example. Appreciate good performances and skillful plays by all participants.

·                           Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from sporting activities.

·                           Respect officials’ decisions and teach children to do likewise.

·                           Show appreciation for volunteer coaches, officials and administrators. Without them, your  child could not participate.

·                           Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every young person regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion.

·                           If you have a concern with a Coach or Administrator, rather than fester it, please communicate it.

·                           It is important during trips away that parents allow their children the opportunity of “spreading their wings”

·                           Parents should never discuss what they feel best for their child on field, unless they first have discussed it with the coach.

·                           It is important for parents to support BQI in relation to all off field training and development programs.

·                           Parents need to support BQI’s motto: “Development of young people is more important than  the development of young baseballers.”

·                           Encourage your child’s Coach (es) at all possible times. That small pat on the back “Goes a long way”

                    Lastly…

·                           Be understanding and have the willingness to communicate with the management of Robina Baseball Club on any of your issues. We care and are always open to suggestion. Lets all get better together
